Little Know Ye Who's Comin'

We originally posted this on the web as a warning against a 2nd term for Bush. As voters did not heed our warning, we were going to take it down, but thought better of it for two reasons. One is that we're fond of historical artifacts and a campaign song whose moment has passed twice now appeals to us. Our second reason is more puerile - we'd like to keep it up as a kind of "I told you so." when the shit hits the fan. Back in 1824, John Quincy Adams' foreboding campaign song promised, among other things, fire, pestilence, 'knavery', and the imminent arrival of Satan himself "if John Quincy not be comin'". We're predicting at least three of those four to come true during Bush's second term with an overall 85% return rate on the bad things that the song predicts, (though I guess 'knavery' is something of a given with this administration...)

There's an MP3 (3MB) available for download and a streaming version for Realplayer. For lyrics and more about the song, click here. More Piñataland music can be found here.
